Design upfront with Trellidor Rollerstyle for seamless security15 August 2011
By planning the location and style of your security barriers ahead of the building phase, you can conceal your Trellidor Rollerstyle aluminium roller shutters completely, keeping them out of sight when you don't need them. To do this, the shutter box is recessed into a wall cavity prepared by your builders, and the shutter's guide channels are cut into the brickwork, resulting in seamless security that won't negatively impact on the design of the building. "The shutter box is still accessible inside the recess for maintenance purposes, but is otherwise invisible," explains Wayne Halgryn, Trellidor Rollerstyle project manager. Roller shutter doors are ideal for projects that seek to maximise beautiful views such as coastlines, mountain ranges or landscaped gardens. When the building is occupied, the shutters can be rolled up into the cavity, revealing the entire vista and giving the occupants a sense of space and openness. When required to do their primary job of securing the premises, the security shutters can be lowered to completely cover the building's windows and doors, leaving no vulnerable points for criminals to exploit. If automated, the task of closing up the building is made even easier. "We fit Somfy motors which are compact, quiet and reliable. Somfy is based in France and considered the leaders in home automation worldwide. The motors are wireless with a manual override and we offer a wide range of convenient control options," said Wayne. Suitable projects for this product range from homes to commercial buildings, multi-media conference rooms requiring a complete black-out, retail outlets, access control points and serving hatches of all descriptions.
