Trellidor introduces burglar guard range for home and business security

External doors are frequently the first and often the only entry points to a home to be secured using physical barriers to prevent unwanted ‘visitors’ from getting in. What we tend to forget is that it’s the windows that can offer robbers a better chance of gaining entry. Installing home security systems on every single opening to one’s home is the ideal but can be an expensive exercise, which is why Trellidor have expanded their range to include a more cost effective burglar bar design.

“We’ve always given customers the option of installing trellis-style window fixtures that match our Trellidor security gates. These are available in both fixed and sliding security solutions for windows. Now we’ve added an economical range of burglar bars to our range,” said sales and marketing director Peter Rawson.

Called Trellidor Burglar Guards, the new range has four different design options, one of which matches Trellidor’s security gates. Price-wise they are highly competitive, but still exhibit the strength that Trellidor is known for and they are guaranteed against corrosion.

“These are not ‘off-the-shelf’ home security products. We still custom measure each window opening and manufacture a unique burglar guard for that window,” said Rawson.

The burglar bars are manufactured using oval tubing, which allows more light into a room than other home security devices, and doesn’t block the view as much as bulkier shapes. They are also easier to clean and more corrosion resistant than square tubing. A strengthening bar provides increased resistance to attack and is protected with a fixing plate.

To make them as unobtrusive as possible, Trellidor Burglar Guards can be powder coated to match décor and fitted in a number of different ways. They can be custom designed to match window frames, making them less ‘in your face’ but still visible to would-be home invaders.

“We can make our burglar guards to fit windows of all sizes and configurations for both domestic and commercial buildings, and they are suitable for all security risk profiles, from low to high,” said Rawson. To ensure ‘best fit’ the units are professionally installed by Trellidor trained technicians. Trellidor is able to offer quick lead times on these products.

With the introduction of this new product, Trellidor now offers a range of window protection options that includes Trellidor Fixtures in both fixed and sliding designs, premium quality Cottage Guard burglar guards that match or mimic cottage pane windows, and Trellidor Burglar Guards in four distinctive designs.
