Trellidor Secures Feed the Babies Fund Headquarters

Trellidor has installed security barriers to the Feed the Babies food storage garage, the latest in a number of installations done at the fund's headquarters on the Berea in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The fund stores its specially formulated food here before distributing it around the province on a monthly basis to hungry children of all races between the ages of birth and six years old.

The installation was completed at just the right time because not long afterwards there was an attempted break-in. The Trellidors prevented the thieves from getting into the storage area and leaving thousands of children to go without their only nutritious meal of the day.

"The fund feeds 8 000 children daily, and they would have gone without this much-needed meal if the criminals had been able to get through," said Rob Chivers, who was instrumental in getting the Trellidor sponsorship. Rob was a Trellidor Franchise Manager at the time, and is now Roll-Up Serranda's KZN Branch Manager. Both companies are part of the Trellicor Group.

The Feed the Babies Fund has been providing meals to children in need since 1957. Their objective is to eliminate malnutrition among babies of all races, giving them a fair chance of a good education and strengthening their immune systems. Donated funds are used to buy specially formulated porridge which is distributed to major clinics, welfare organisations and crèches. They also distribute donated blankets, clothing and toys.
