Trellidor Somerset West Supports Lord's Acre08 January 2009 Trellidor Somerset West has sponsored security barriers for both doors and windows at Lord's Acre Christian Community Centre at Groendal near Franschhoek. "The centre is doing wonderful work in the local community, led by Pastor Archie Jefthas, with a particular focus on youngsters," said Trellidor franchise owner Francois van Rensburg, "and we were happy to be able to secure its newly constructed building."Pastor Archie has been ministering to residents of farms in Franschhoek and Simondium since 1987, developing health programmes, personal development programmes, Word school and providing food and clothing where necessary. The Community Centre, built on a site that originally intended for a church, was erected with the help of the Franschhoek Resource and Network Co-ordinating Organisation (FRANCO) as well as the Rotary Club of Newlands, Peninsula Beverages (Coca Cola), the Berg River Dam Project and Trellidor. Although Lord's Acre tends to all those in need within the community, Pastor Archie has a particular mission amongst the youth of the area. He works with 600 juvenile offenders at the Groot Drakenstein Correctional Facility, helping them to prepare for life after prison and providing the father figure example that most of them are missing. "Trellidor has been involved in sponsorships countrywide in a wide range of projects, but we have developed a particular focus on the children of South Africa, so we were very happy to be part of this worthwhile, positive project," said Francois.
