AFFILIATIONS

The Sunflower Fund
Sunflower Fund helps to save the vulnerable in our communities through its drive for bone marrow donors and raising awareness of blood cancer, particularly in children. Trellidor has proudly supported the fund since it was established in KwaZulu-Natal because we recognise the valuable work they are doing for those in need. We participate in as many of their fundraisers as we can throughout the year.
Feed the Babies Fund
Trellidor has done a number of security barrier installations to the food storage area at the Feed the Babies Fund headquarters in Glenwood, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The fund stores its specially formulated food here before distributing it around the province, feeding over 8 000 hungry children of all races between the ages of birth and six years old on a daily basis.
The Robin Hood Foundation
Trellidor contributes to the Robin Hood Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports those caring for children orphaned by HIV/Aids. The Trellidor staff participates in various fund-raisers to collect food that goes towards making up the ‘Gogo Bags’ distributed by the Robin Hood Foundation on a regular basis to grandmothers burdened with the responsibility of caring for their orphaned grandchildren or deceased neighbours’ children. The Foundation distributes these bags to households identified by social workers in poor communities in Inchanga, Lower Molweni, Chesterville, Shongweni and Hammarsdale.
KZN Coastal Hockey
Trellidor is a proud supporter of KZN Coastal Hockey. After several burglaries at their premises, Trellidor secured the entire building including doors and windows to the computer room, change rooms and restaurant. For further information visit the KZN Coastal Hockey website.
CANSA 'Jail and Bail'
Trellidor branches and franchises around South Africa support Cansa, the Cancer Association of South Africa. The Gauteng region built the 'jail' that is used for the Cansa 'Jail and Bail' fundraiser out of Trellidor security gates. This 'jail' is moved by Trellidor staff to each new venue, often a shopping centre. Read more
Hibberdene Children's Home
The Mercury Hibberdene Children’s Home on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast recently underwent a much-needed refurbishment, with Trellidor securing all windows and external doors with burglar guards and security gates to the value of R112 000. The 86-year old home hosts paying guests such as schools and religious groups, whose tariffs are used to subsidise free holidays for underprivileged children from poor communities and children’s homes around South Africa.
Project O
Trellidor is committed to securing homes for children orphaned by HIV/Aids built by Project O on tribal land in the Inanda Valley, KwaZulu-Natal. The houses are unique in design, drawing on African tradition in terms of shape and using the best possible materials to make them structurally sound. The life-style is self-sustaining and the homes have a zero carbon footprint. Orphaned children are kept within the communities they are familiar with, surrounded by their siblings as well as people that know their personal history.
Rugby Legends
The Trellicor Group, Trellidor and Coroma sponsored six sets of rugby jerseys for the Rugby Legends Cup tournament held in the Western Cape. The tournament is an initiative partnered by eLan Rugby Legends, UCT, WP Rugby Football Union, SA Rugby Football Union, the Department of Education, the Department of Culture & Sport, and Ubumbo. A total of 64 schools in the Cape Flats participated, with 100 coaches being put through training programmes and teachers at all the schools committing themselves to assisting with extramural activities after school hours. After running the programme in the Western Cape for three years, the organisers hope to move on to other areas such as the Boland and West Coast.
